Sept. 2017 one of hottest on Hong Kong's record: observatory

HONG KONG, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- The Hong Kong Observatory said Wednesday that last month had become one of the hottest Septembers in Hong Kong since records began in 1884.

The mean temperature last month was 29 degrees Celsius, 1.3 degrees higher than normal, according to the Hong Kong Observatory.

This September was also drier than usual with 192.4 millimeters of rainfall, about 59 percent of the normal figure, while the accumulated rainfall since January was 9 percent above normal, it said.
