SINGAPORE, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) dropping 0.29 percent or 9.43 points to close at 3,236.65.
A total of 1.87 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 999.0 million Singapore dollars (about 734.46 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 236 to 184.
The STI index closed down 0.49 percent or 16.02 points to close at 3246.08 Tuesday. Enditem
