4 soldiers killed in bomb attack in southeast Turkey

ANKARA, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Four soldiers were killed and four others wounded in a bomb attack in Turkey's southeastern province of Hakkari early Wednesday.

The incident occurred when Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants detonated improvised explosives on the road in the Yuksekova district of Hakkari province, the Provincial Governer Office said in a written statement.

The injured soldiers were immediately taken to the Yuksekova Public Hospital for treatment.

A security operation supported by air and armoured vehicles has been launched in the region to capture the militants.
