Indian markets open higher

MUMBAI, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- Indian markets opened sharply higher on Tuesday, tracking positive global cues and strong auto sales data.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex opened at 31,585.12, 301.40 points or 0.96 percent up compared to its previous close at 31,283.72.
