BAGHDAD, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- The Iraqi government on Monday strongly condemned the mass shooting attack in Las Vegas in the U.S. state of Nevada that killed at least 58 and wounded hundreds of others.
The attack "underlines the importance of increasing international efforts to eradicate terrorism and follow up the sources of its support and funding," said a statement issued by the Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi's office.
The Islamic State militant group claimed responsibility for the mass shooting in Las Vegas, but U.S. authorities have denied that, saying that nothing in hand could so far connect the attack to any international terror organization.
On Sunday night, a mass shooting took place at a concert in Las Vegas leaving at least 58 people killed and some 515 others wounded.
