NAIROBI, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Three marksmen from Kenya will be part of the Commonwealth Shooting Federation training camp in Gold Coast, Australia from Oct. 28 to Nov.8.

According to the Kenya full bore captain, Wilberforce Kaluma, lack of funds saw two others dropped from the travelling party.

Three-time Kenya Open champion, Christopher Saina, his General Service Unit colleague and two-time domestic winner, Sanford Otundo as well as John Ihugo (Kenya Police Service) will travel for the camp.

"It will be an opportunity for us to familiarize ourselves with the range and rules of the competition ahead of the actual Commonwealth Games next year. It is also a great chance for us to sharpen our skill and exchange ideas with other participants," Saina on Monday.

Police Service duo, Philip Kipchumba and Simon Ndambuki will miss out on the trip. "Such training is important for our shooters. Our desire was to send five but unfortunately, our budgets could not allow," Karema emphasized.

He challenged the trio to step up their game in the camp with Kenya due to only send two shooters for the April 4 to 15 Commonwealth Games next year. Enditem
