DAMASCUS, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- A suicide car bomb went off in the capital Damascus' central Midan neighborhood in front of a police station, local media reported.
Following the car bomb near the police station, two suicide bombers detonated their explosive belts inside the station, leaving an unknown number of casualties.
The capital Damascus has enjoyed relative peace in latest months, but explosions still rock from time to time.
Midan itself has been the target of several bombings during the country's over six-year war.
The same police station in Midan was targeted last December when a suicide seven-year-old girl blew up inside the station, in what later appeared to be remotely detonated by al-Qaida-linked groups.
