JAKARTA, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's resort island of Bali will host an international cycling championship next year.

The grand Fondo New York (GNFY) is scheduled to be held from Feb. 2-4, committee of the international sport event Tenne Permatasari said on Friday.

"Bali has many attractive things. Many international cyclists enthusiastically take parts in this event, because they are lured by tourist destinations," she told a press conference.

She said that registration for participating in the event has been opened since April of this year and will be closed at 2 day before the event starts.

"Over 40 percent of the participants are cyclists from abroad," said Permatasari.

Head of the committee of the event Markus Irawan said that the route of the event is very good as the cyclist can reach a speed of 30km per hour.
