ISLAMABAD, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan on Thursday condemned the statement of Indian Army chief in which he warned that India could carry out another surgical strike into Pakistan-administered Kashmir if it is required.

Indian Army chief General Bipin Rawat this week claimed India had carried out a surgical strike in Pakistan-administered Kashmir and that India has options available to conduct such a strike again.

On its part Pakistani Foreign Ministry warned India that any Indian misadventure of surgical strikes could endanger regional peace and stability.

"Such irresponsible statements can cause uncomfortable environment, not only for Pakistan but also for the regional countries," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said during his weekly press briefing.

"Pakistan urges the international community to take notice of such absurd lies and false claims on India's behalf," he added.

India claimed in September last year that its military had conducted surgical strikes on militants camps across the Line of Control after armed men attacked an Indian army camp killing 19 soldiers. Pakistan army had dismissed the claim as false.

The Pakistani spokesman renewed rejection of the Indian claim of last year's surgical strike.

"In 2016, then army spokesman Lt General Asim Salim Bajwa also described the Indian claim of surgical strike as totally baseless. To prove, he took national and international media representatives on the area where India had claimed to have surgical strikes done," Zakaria said.
