CARACAS, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- The Venezuelan opposition party announced on Tuesday that it would not take part in a dialogue scheduled on Wednesday with the government in the Dominican Republic.

National Assembly (AN) deputy Luis Florido said the opposition Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD) felt that the conditions are not there for a new dialogue.

"For tomorrow, a meeting is scheduled in the Dominican Republic, but let us be clear with the country...at this time, the requirements to begin such a process are not there," he told the press.

"We need a clear, agreed agenda. We will not take part in the government's 'shows.' While we have every desire to move ahead, we are not going to do things badly," added Florido.

According to the MUD, President Nicolas Maduro has met none of their conditions for the dialogue, including an electoral calendar, the freeing of political prisoners and the opening of a humanitarian corridor to allow food and medicine into Venezuela from abroad.

Delegations from both sides met in the Dominican Republic on September 13-14 and had originally agreed for another meeting on September 27.

However, Maduro said his delegation would still go to attend the talks and stand "ready to continue conversations."

This new round of talks was planned by Dominican President Danilo Medina and the former Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.
