JAKARTA, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Association of Indonesian Sepaktakraw has set a 2 gold medal target in the 18th Asian Games in the country next year, a coach disclosed here on Tuesday.

Coach of the Indonesian Sepaktakraw team Asri Syam said that the target was made based on the performance of the athletes in the recent SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia.

To reach the goal in the Asian Games, the association plans to hold scores of tryout matches in Thailand whose sepaktakraaw players are among the best in the world, said Syam.

"Thailand has many players who have had many international experiences," he was quoted by Antara news wire.

"Recently, it has emerged nations with players having strong capability and skill in the game such as South Korea. We will not underestimate every opponent," he added.

Sepaktakraw is a traditional sport of Southeast Asia.
