Dollar stays in upper 111 yen zone over geopolitical concerns

TOKYO, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar stayed in the upper 111 yen zone Tuesday in Tokyo amid renewed concern over the Korea Peninsula issue.

At 5 p.m. local time, the dollar was quoted at 111.75-77 yen compared with 111.68-78 yen in New York and 112.23-25 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Monday. It moved between 111.50 yen and 111.80 yen during the day.

The euro fetched 1.1811-1813 dollars and 131.99-132.03 yen against 1.1842-1852 dollars and 132.32-42 yen in New York and 1.1908-1912 dollars and 133.66-70 yen in Tokyo late Monday afternoon.
