European, Asian transport ministers to discuss connectivity, investment issues in Bali

JAKARTA, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- Transport ministers and senior officials from European and Asian nations will kick off a meeting on Tuesday in Bali island of Indonesia to share opinion on issues of connectivity, investment, infrastructure and other strategic issues, Indonesian Transport Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said here on Monday.

The ministers and delegates from nearly 40 nations will gather for the 4th Asia-Europe Meeting-Transport Minister Meeting (ASEM-TMM) in on Sept. 26-28, said the minister.

"Connectivity will be the main topic this year, bridging Asia and Europe. Other issues to be discussed are infrastructure and investment in transportation field," he told a press conference at transport ministry.

The biennial event will begin with a senior official meeting on Tuesday followed by a ministerial meeting and business forum on the following day, according to him.

Minister Sumadi said he will carry out bilateral meetings with counterparts from other nations on the sideline of the meeting.
