AMMAN, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- A Jordanian-Gulf forum will kick off in Jordan next Thursday with a view to boost trade ties between the two sides, the Jordan Chamber of Commerce said Sunday.
The forum will provide an opportunity for networking and building partnerships and exploring investment opportunities, Nael Kabariti, president of the chamber said in a statement, a copy of which was obtained by Xinhua.
"The forum will focus on efforts ... to attract investments and help boost trade volumes between the two sides," Kabariti added.
Several sessions on energy projects, infrastructure and innovation will be held during the forum, according to Kabariti.
The forum will also provide a platform for investors from both sides to look into investment potential and opportunities, he said.
According to Kabariti, about 30 per cent of Jordan's exports head to the Gulf states.
Jordan's exports to the Gulf countries reached around 1.326 billion dinars in 2016, around 2 billion U.S. dollars, he added.
Investments by the Gulf countries in Jordan stand at about 40 billion U.S. dollars distributed in fields of hospitality, construction, industry, energy and others, he added.
