NEW YORK, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended mixed on Friday, as rising geopolitical tensions between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United States weighed on the market.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 9.64 points, or 0.04 percent, to 22,349.59. The S&P 500 added 1.62 points, or 0.06 percent, to 2,502.22. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 4.23 points, or 0.07 percent, to 6,426.92.
On the economic front, the seasonally adjusted HIS Markit Flash U.S. Composite PMI Output Index came in at 54.6 in September, down slightly from 55.3 in August and missing market consensus of 54.9.
