COPENHAGEN, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Copenhagen Police and the Danish intelligence agency PET have arrested two people in Denmark for allegedly trying to take part in terrorism abroad, local media reported Friday.
The duo, a 28-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, were arrested on Thursday following an investigation, according to the Danish newspaper The Copenhagen Post.
"The case involves the purchase and transportation of items from Denmark to IS in Syria/Iraq that were to be implemented in battle actions," the Copenhagen Police was quoted as saying in a statement.
The two arrested are both with ethnic background other than Danish, according to the newspaper.
