HELSINKI, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- Two young foreigners inflicted wounds on themselves at the main door of the Finnish parliament building on Friday, apparently as a type of protest.
The incident was soon confirmed by the parliamentary security director Jukka Savola. The police and ambulances arrived immediately and the men were taken to hospital, media reported.
The police did not reveal the nationalities of the men, but they were said to have yellow ID cards of a refugee center. The police said no criminality was found to be associated with the incident.
The massive steps of the parliament building are totally accessible to the public right up to the door.
As of Friday evening no information was available about the motive of the event.
