U.S. stocks end mixed amid Fed policy statement

NEW YORK, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks closed mixed on Wednesday as the Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged, but announced that it would start to unwind its 4.5-trillion-U.S.-dollar balance sheet from October.

The Dow added 0.19 percent, and the S&P 500 increased 0.06 percent, while the Nasdaq fell 0.08 percent.
