LAGOS, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Nigerian government on Wednesday commenced distribution of food to over 40,000 households in seven liberated areas of the restive northeastern state of Adamawa.
This was part of the government food intervention scheme to communities affected by Boko Haram insurgency, Mustapha Maihaja, Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said in northern Gombi town.
Maihaja said the scheme was aimed at alleviating the hardship experienced by the IDPs host communities, noting that over 40,000 households were targeted in seven most affected areas in the state.
Among the items distributed include one bag of soybeans, millet, maize flour, two bags of semovita and masavita to each house holds for the duration of one month. Enditem
