RAMALLAH, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian political factions welcome move by Islamic Hamas movement to end split for reconciliation, a statement said here on Sunday.

Hamas decided to dissolve the "Administrative Committee" in Gaza Strip, agreeing with rival President Mahmoud Abbas Fatah Party to reconcile, form a unity government soon and prepare for holding the general parliamentary and presidential elections, according to an official statement by Hamas movement.

"Hamas dissolves the Administrative Committee and invites the consensus government of Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah to come to the Gaza Strip immediately to practice its missions and carry out its duties," said the statement.

Secretary General of the Palestinian People's Party Bassam Salhi also welcomed Hamas movement's declaration, describing it as "important and very much needed at this point, in order to put an end to the decade-long intra-Palestinian division."

"We must build on this declaration," Salhi said, adding "it is essential that Egypt guarantees the obligations by both sides and put it's weight to guarantee the implementation of the reconciliation process."

He said that "not all issues are expected to be resolved all at once, but this is a sufficient starting point."
