BEIJING, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- The six-day Gree Tour of Guangxi, the last stage of 2017 UCI WorldTour, will inaugurate on Oct. 19 in South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region with the participation of the 18 elite teams recognized by the UCI.
Authorized by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the Gree Tour of Guangxi is a top ranking race organized by the local government and China's Wanda Group. Organizers said it will be a wonderful addition to the WorldTour Series which is popular in Europe.
The Gree Tour of Guangxi will start from coastal cities of Beihai and Qinzhou. Then the cyclists will go north to Nanning, Liuzhou and finally arrive in Guilin. The cyclists will go through plain, hill and mountainous area. They will also enjoy the beautiful scenery all the way.
The 18 professional teams participating in the race are TEAM SKY (SKY), QUICK-STEP FLOORS (QST), BMC RACING TEAM (BMC), TEAM SUNWEB (SUN), TREK-SEGAFREDO (TFS), MOVISTAR TEAM (MOV), ORICA-SCOTT (ORS), BORA-HANSGROHE (BOH), CANNONDALE DRAPAC PROFESSIONAL CYCLING TEAM (CDT), AG2R LA MONDIALE (ALM), TEAM KATUSHA ALPECIN (KAT), LOTTO SOUDAL (LTS), UAE TEAM EMIRATES (UAD), TEAM LOTTO NL-JUMBO (TLJ), BAHRAIN-MERIDA (TBM), ASTANA PRO TEAM (AST), FDJ (FDJ) and TEAM DIMENSION DATA (DDD).
Meanwhile, a women's cycling tour of Guangxi will also take place at the same time. And a UCI Cycling Gala will be held in Guilin on Oct. 24.
