ST. PETERSBURG, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- A Russian parliament member on Friday called for a ban on the use of American iPhones among Russian officials.
Local media reported that Alexei Tsivilev, a parliament member of St. Petersburg, a port city in Russia's Baltic Sea, presented the proposal to the Federal Security Service of Russia in response to the U.S. ban on using products of "Kaspersky Lab," a Russian cybersecurity and anti-virus comany.
He said that Apple products collect more and more data of personal users under the guise of new functionality, like a new face recognition function in iPhone.
The U.S. government on Wendesday decided to remove any software of Kaspersky Lab from all government agencies' computer system. Enditem
