LONDON, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- British stocks fell on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 index down by 1.14 percent, or 84.31 points, to close at 7,295.39 points.
British clothing and home products retailer Next soared 13.06 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. GKN and Marks & Spencer Group increased by 3.15 percent and 2.80 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, major British supermarket chain Wm Morrison Supermarkets was the worst performer of the blue chips, with its shares plummeting 5.14 percent.
Experian, a global information services group, dropped 4.83 percent. Taylor Wimpey, a British house building company, fell 3.67 percent. Enditem
