SEOUL, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's presidential Blue House on Thursday held a National Security Council (NSC) meeting to review overall situations after the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)'s sixth nuclear test earlier this month.
The Blue House said in a statement that the NSC meeting was chaired by Chung Eui-yong, top national security advisor to President Moon Jae-in.
Those who attended the meeting included presidential chief of staff, spy agency chief and ministers of foreign affairs, defense and unification.
The statement said the participants exchanged in-depth opinions on overall situations after the DPRK's sixth nuclear test and assessed the new UN Security Council resolution on Pyongyang.
On Sept. 3, Pyongyang tested what it claimed was a hydrogen bomb warhead that can be loaded onto a ballistic missile with intercontinental capability.
The UN Security Council unanimously approved a new resolution toughening sanctions on the DPRK, which curtails the Asian country's oil imports, bans all of its textile exports and prohibits the further authorization of work permits abroad for DPRK workers.
