Spain's business creation falls by 9.4 pct in July

MADRID, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- The creation of new businesses in Spain fell by 9.4 percent in July when compared with the same month of a year earlier, according to data published on Tuesday by Spain's Statistical Office (INE).

Spain's business creation has been fallen for four consecutive months on a year-on-year basis.

The INE said that 7,434 new companies were created in July, which used a subscribed capital of 425 million euros (508 million US dollars), meaning a 1.2 percent decrease compared to July, 2016.

22.8 percent of the businesses created in July belonged to the trade sector and 14.9 percent to the real estate sector.

On the other hand, Spain's business dissolutions rose by 2.1 percent in July year-on-year to 1,369, of which 70.6 percent were dissolved voluntarily, 13.2 percent via mergers and 16.2 percent for other reasons.

On a month-to-month basis, the number of new businesses fell by 10.8 percent from June to July while the number of businesses dissolved dropped by 4.1 percent. (1 euro= 1.2 U.S. dollars)
