Dollar drops to 10-month low on hurricane, geopolitical concerns

TOKYO, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar dropped to a 10-month low in the upper 107 yen zone in Tokyo on Friday amid concerns over the situation on the Korean Peninsular and the impacts of hurricanes in the United States.

At 5 p.m. local time, the dollar was quoted at 107.74-75 yen compared with 108.37-47 yen in New York and 108.99-109.01 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Thursday.

The dollar fluctuated between 107.59 yen and 108.48 yen during the day.

The euro fetched 1.2048-2050 dollars and 129.81-85 yen compared to 1.2015-2025 and 130.36-46 yen in New York and 1.1953-1954 dollars and 130.28-32 yen in Tokyo late Thursday afternoon.
