DUBAI, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- The Emirates Pilots Training Academy received here on Thursday two "Cyrus Sr22 G6" training planes, according to the Emirates news agency WAM.

"The planes are the first batch of 22 aircraft of the same type with a single engine that the academy contracted to purchase for use in the junior pilots' training programs," the official agency said.

The two planes arrived in Dubai after a transatlantic flight with more than 13,000 kilometers.

The "Cyrus Sr22 G6" will form the backbone of the training planes at the Emirates Aviation Academy to train pilots.

The aircraft features a modern composite chassis, two 12-inch widescreen flight information screens, a flight management keyboard system, and a system for engine pointers.

The Emirates Academy is one of the world's most modern and advanced aviation education centers.

The Academy is implementing a programme for the qualification and training of junior pilots from UAE, with future opportunities for trainees from outside the country.
