KIEV, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- A number of foreign countries and international organizations will provide assistance for Ukraine in implementing the reform of the State Fiscal Service (SFS) -- the country's tax body, the Ukrainian Finance Ministry said on Thursday.

The representatives of the European Union, Canada, the United States, the International Monetary Fund and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development have already agreed to support Kiev in implementing the reform, said a statement on the ministry's website.

In particular, the international partners will provide consultation and recommendations to the Ukrainian authorities on the reform project, the statement said.

"The purpose of the project is to transform the SFS into an efficient and modern agency with an advanced IT system, with automated and transparent processes and with convenient services," Oleksandr Danylyuk, Ukrainian Finance Minister, was quoted as saying in the statement.

Ukraine has launched a comprehensive reform of the SFS in late July in an attempt to root out corruption in the fiscal services, improve the business environment and attract investment.
