ADDIS ABABA, Sep. 7 (Xinhua) -- An Ethiopian court on Thursday sentenced a Nigerian national, who was caught hiding cocaine in stomach, to seven years in prison.
Emeka Raphael, 36, was arrested by Ethiopian authorities on August 18 in Addis Ababa Bole International Airport while he was transiting from Brazil to Nigeria.
The airport scanner had detected 27 plastic stashes of cocaine weighing 500 grams in Raphael's stomach.
The Ethiopian Federal High Court, in addition to sentencing Raphael to seven years in prison, also fined him 370 U.S. dollars.
