PARIS, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Friday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.26 percent, or 13.21 points, to close at 5,114.62 points.
A total of 26 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.
French energy company ENGIE S.A. advanced 2.67 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French luxury group KERING gained 2.20 percent. French ophthalmic company Essilor Intl. rose 1.93 percent.
UK-domiciled company TECHNIPFMC edged down 2.09 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. European multinational aerospace and defence corporation Airbus Groupe lost by 1.37 percent. French multinational advertising and public relations company Publicis Groupe went down by 0.95 percent. Enditem
