KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- A Bangladeshi worker was injured in a Molotov cocktail attack on Monday afternoon at a nightclub in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's state news agency Bernama reported, citing the police.

It is reported that two suspects fled the scene after hurling two self-made Molotov cocktail bombs at the entertainment premises, but only one bomb went off, hurting the Bangladeshi man.

An investigation was underway, but Petaling Jaya district police chief Mohd Zani Che Din ruled out the possibility of a terror attack, saying the incident may be connected to business rivalry and extortion, according to a report from the Star newspaper.

In June 2016, a similar attack using grenade took place at a bar in Puchong in suburb Kuala Lumpur, injuring eight people. It was later called the first ever terror attack in Malaysia with links to the Islamic State group.
