JAKARTA, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- The number of foreign holidaymakers visiting Indonesia from January to July rose significantly 23.53 percent to 7.81 million people compared with the same period of last year, national statistics bureau announced here on Monday.
In July, foreign tourist arrivals expanded 30.85 percent to 1.35 million people from a year ago, head of the bureau Kecuk Suhariyanto said.
China contributed the most to the number of foreign tourist arrivals to Indonesia in the month, followed by Australia, Singapore and Malaysia, Suhariyanto said.
A total of 214,573 Chinese tourists, or 15.88 percent of the total figure, visited Indonesia in July, he added.
