Vietnam imports more fertilizers in 8 months

HANOI, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam imported over 3.3 million tons of fertilizers worth 905 million U.S. dollars in the first eight months of this year, recording respective year-on-year surges of 24.5 percent and 23.2 percent.

The fertilizers, mostly urea, Ammonium Sulfate, Potassium, Diammonium Phosphate and Nitrogen-Phosphorous-Potassium fertilizers, were imported mainly from China, Russia, Indonesia, Canada and Japan, according to the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade on Friday.

Vietnam imported 4.2 million tons of fertilizers, including 610,229 tons of urea, totaling over 1.1 billion U.S. dollars in 2016, seeing respective declines of 7 percent and 21 percent against 2015.
