Myanmar ruling party patron U Tin Oo discharged from hospital

YANGON, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Patron of Myanmar's ruling National League for Democracy (NLD) U Tin Oo has been discharged from hospital as he was confirmed recovering from his illness, official report said Friday.

U Tin Oo, 92, was discharged from the Yangon General Hospital Thursday after receiving medical treatment for over three months.

He was hospitalized due to falling unconscious at home on May 17. He was partially affected by stroke.

U Tin Oo co-founded the NLD and served as vice chairman for many years since the party's establishment in 1988.
