ISLAMABAD, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan on Thursday summoned Indian envoy over cross-border shelling, which killed a civilian along the Line of Control (LoC) in the disputed Kashmir region, officials said.
The foreign ministry said Indian forces fired in Kotera Sector on Aug. 29, resulting in the death of a 55-year-old civilian, Muhammad Rasheed, resident of village Mithidhara.
The Director General at the South Asian Desk at the Foreign Ministry Mohammad Faisal summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner, J.P. Singh and condemned the "unprovoked ceasefire violations" by the Indian forces, a foreign ministry statement said.
