ISTANBUL, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- Livestock markets across Turkey's largest city Istanbul are ready to meet the demands of the Muslims on the annual Eid Al-Adha, the Islamic Feast of the Sacrifice, which falls on Sept. 1.

Yedpa livestock market, established in Atasehir, the Asian side district of Istanbul, has been giving services to the residents with special butcher teams to conduct the process of sacrifice in 40 tents, and nearly 2,000 heads of livestock have been on sale in the market.

The bullocks, sheep and rams have been transported into the market 15 days ago from the nearby farms and 70 percent of them have been sold so far.

Erkan Koker, a livestock seller who has 75 bullocks and 600 rams, hopes that he could sell all his livestock at the end of the festival.

"People can usually afford to buy a bullock only in cooperation with their friends or relatives," Koker told Xinhua, "individuals mostly prefer to buy rams as their prices are cheaper."

He said the prices of the bullocks vary in between 2,000 U.S. dollars and 6,000 dollars each while rams can find more buyers with the prices starting from 200 dollars each.

Koker added that the butcher teams are all experienced, obeying all the Islamic procedures of the sacrifice process.
