CAIRO, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- An Egyptian criminal court on Tuesday put 56 Muslim Brotherhood defendants on the terrorist list for three years, official news agency MENA reported.
The court said these defendants were found guilty of leading the outlawed Brotherhood, being its members, providing the group with funds, or harming national economy and public security.
The verdict also includes a travel ban, assets freeze, loss of political rights, and passport cancellation.
In January, the same court placed 1,500 people, including toppled former President Mohamed Morsi and his sons as well as senior Brotherhood leaders and their sons and daughters, on the terrorsit list.
The Brotherhood was designated as a terrorist group and banned its activities following the ouster of Morsi by the army in 2013, in response to mass protests against his one-year rule.
