Iran's gas condensate exports show significant rise

TEHRAN, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Iran exported 17.812 million tons of gas condensates worth 6.979 billion U.S. dollars from Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ) during 12 month period ended in mid-August, local media reported on Sunday.

The exports registered 28 percent rise in value and 31 percent growth in weight compared to the corresponding period in the preceding year, Ahmad Pourheidar, an official with PSEEZ was quoted as saying by official IRNA news agency on Sunday.

China, Japan, South Korea, India, Indonesia, Turkey, Egypt, the UAE and Kuwait were among main customers of Iran's gas condensates, Pourheidar said.

PSEEZ is located on the northern coastal line of the Persian Gulf.

According to Tehran Times daily, the field is estimated to contain a significant amount of natural gas, accounting for about eight percent of the world's reserves, and approximately 18 billion barrels of condensate.
