FRANKFURT, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index down 12.89 points, or 0.11 percent, to close at 12,167.94 points.
Deutsche Post lost the most among the blue chips, down by 1.04 percent, followed by German airlines Lufthansa and automotive manufacturer BMW, which lost 0.96 percent and 0.90 percent respectively.
German industrial giant Thyssenkrupp, energy group RWE and multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer were the top three winners, rising 1.13 percent, 1.04 percent and 0.98 percent respectively.
Automotive manufacturer Daimler was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 272.52 million euros (321.79 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
