BANGKOK, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- The Supreme Court of Thailand on Friday postponed the verdict in former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra's rice pledging case to Sept. 27 as she failed to show up at the court, and the court issued an arrest warrant against her.

Her lawyers told the court at 9:37 a.m. local time that Yingluck is not well and cannot come to the court. But the court did not believe the claim as it was not backed by a medical certificate.

Yingluck on Thursday called on her supporters to stay at home to cheer for her tomorrow instead of gathering in front of the Supreme Court.
