MOGADISHU, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Somalia military court on Tuesday sentenced two Al-Shabaab militants to death for killing a community leader in Wadajir district in Mogadishu in November 2016.
Military Court judge, Col. Hassan Abdirahman Aden said the court found the two militants guilty of killing Suldan Hilowle Hafow.
The suspects - Hassan Ali Hassan Kerow (23), and Abdirahman Isse Ali Fidow (20) were arrested by security forces while armed with two pistols and a bomb.
Aden said the two confessed killing the community leader.
The military court often carries out sentences and executions to Al-Shabaab militants and government soldiers who commit crimes despite condemnation from human rights groups including the EU.
