Indian markets open higher

MUMBAI, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Indian markets opened higher Tuesday. Equity benchmarks started off Tuesday's trade on a strong note, supported by broadbased buying.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex opened at 31,432.45, 173.60 points or 0.57 percent up compared to its previous close at 31,258.85.
