Israeli soldiers kill Palestinian stabber in northern West Bank

NABLUS, West Bank, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- Israeli soldiers killed a Palestinian teenager on Saturday afternoon after he stabbed and wounded a soldier at an Israeli army roadblock near the West Bank city of Nablus, medical sources said.

The sources said that the soldiers opened fire at a 17-year-old teenager and killed him at Za'tara military roadblock south of the city after he stabbed and wounded one of the soldiers at the roadblock.

Palestinian eyewitnesses told Xinhua that the Israeli army forces immediately closed the two main Israeli army roadblocks that lead to the city of Nablus and prevented the Palestinian traffic in both directions.

Meanwhile, the witnesses said that Qutaiba Zahran, 17 years old from the village of Allar near Tulkarem in northern West Bank was killed and the Israeli army still holds his body.

Since October 2015, a wave of tension broke out between Israel and the Palestinians which had already left more than 380 Palestinians and more than 45 Israelis killed. Most of them were killing in stabbing and ramming attacks.
