SINGAPORE, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks finished lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) declining 15.98 points, or 0.48 percent, to close at 3,278.95.
A total of 1.74 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.18 billion Singapore dollars (about 863.08 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 262 to 168.
The STI index went down 13.76 points, or 0.42 percent, to close at 3,294.93 Tuesday.
