LONDON, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.41 percent, or 29.96 points, to close at 7,383.85 points.
EasyJet, a British low-cost airline , soared 4.51 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. International Consolidated Airlines Group and BAE Systems increased by 2.94 percent and 2.33 percent, respectively.
Provident Financial, a British sub-prime lender, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 3.78 percent.
Randgold Resources, a gold mining business, dropped 3.16 percent. Fresnillo, a Mexican-based precious metals mining company, fell 2.97 percent. Enditem
