MOGADISHU, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- One person was shot dead and another injured in a drive by shooting in Mogadishu's Hodan district Tuesday, police said.
The victims who were travelling in a car were hit by gun bullets from armed men in a vehicle which blocked the road before opening fire on the occupants of the car.
"We have established that one person was killed and another wounded after the assailants opened fire on their car. They blocked them vehicle and fired at it killing the occupant," Hodan district police commissioner Abdifitah Bishar told journalists.
Residents said they heard multiple rounds of gunfire.
"I heard several rounds of bullets fired near Digfer Hospital," Fartun Shiino, a shop trader told Xinhua.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack and the motive could not be immediately established.
