WINDHOEK, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Namibia said Monday that the Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever that killed one and left three others hospitalized was under control.

The acting health permanent secretary, Bertha Katjivena, said in a statement that the three people had been cleared and discharged from a Windhoek hospital.

"The regional veterinarian and other concerned parties are still working closely with the health team to contain any further spread of the disease," Katjivena said.

The unnamed victim died on Aug. 6 after spending two days in hospital in the capital.

He had travelled from Omusati Region in the north of the country to Windhoek on Aug. 1 to attend an event.

On Aug. 4, the man was admitted to hospital after he had complained of a headache, fever, body aches, nausea and vomiting.

He, however, died and was buried in the capital to avoid the spread of the fever.
