Dollar changes hands in lower 109 yen zone in early trade in Tokyo

TOKYO, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands in the lower 109 yen range in early deals in Tokyo on Monday, having dived to its lowest level in four months at 108.72 yen in New York late last week.

As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 109.25-26 yen compared with 109.12-22 yen in New York at 5 p.m. on Friday.

Financial markets were closed here on Friday for a national holiday.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1826-1831 dollars and 129.20-22 yen against 1.1813-1823 dollars and 129.02-12 yen in late Friday afternoon trade in New York. Enditem
