LONDON, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Qatar's high jumper Mutaz Essa Barshim won his first gold medal at IAAF World Championships here on Sunday.
After toughest rival Danil Lysenko failed to cross the 2.35-meter bar, Barshim has secured the gold. He failed in all his three attempts for a new season best of 2.40 meters.
Authorized neutral athlete Lysenko finished second. Majd Eddin Ghazal of Syria took away the bronze with 2.29 meters. Enditem
