BRATISLAVA, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Severe thunderstorms and strong wind, which hit western Slovakia in the past two days, have left about 6,000 households without electricity on Saturday.

Power supplier, West Slovak Distribution Company (ZSE), said on Saturday in a press statement that the company is still repairing the power supply system damaged by thunderstorms and wind.

"Around 6,000 customers were still without electricity on Saturday, mainly in Bratislava and its vicinity," ZSE said in the statement. The company has been dealing with damages on high voltage lines after wires were torn by fallen trees.

"Due to the extent of the damage, these repairs required relatively more time and cooperation of several emergency units," ZSE said.
